Description
The prothrombin time (PT) is a test that helps evaluate a person’s ability to appropriately form blood clots.
This test can be ordered when an individual is taking the blood-thinning medication warfarin, or when there is unexplained or prolonged bleeding or inappropriate blood clotting.
